**Floating holidays may be used at any time for a scheduled day of work with prior approval from the employee’s immediate Supervisor. The floating holidays must be taken during the current calendar year since they cannot be carried over to the following year.

Educational Assistance

To support our commitment to your professional and educational development, our Educational Assistance Program helps pay for coursework that benefits both you and the company.


Educational Assistance Program

Eligibility: Eligible employees must be accepted and maintain enrollment in an accredited institution and meet the following criteria to receive the educational assistance benefit:

  • Pursue a degree in a job-related field or area in which the Company recruits (e.g., business, accounting, engineering, computer science, etc.)
  • Course(s) must be related to the employee’s current job or possible future assignments with the Company, as determined by the Company in its sole discretion
  • Must earn a grade of “C” or better in the course

To Apply: Employees must obtain approval from local management and the Total Rewards Department prior to registration/enrollment in the course(s). In order to be considered for approval, the employee must email benefits@westlake.com his/her application, a copy of his/her degree plan and a course description for the course for which he/she is requesting approval.

Reimbursement: Westlake will reimburse required out-of-pocket educational expenses for fees imposed by the accredited institution at 90%, up to a maximum of $5,250 or CAD 7,100 per calendar year, for the cost of admission fees and entrance exams (e.g., GRE – Graduate Record Examinations), tuition, textbooks, laboratory fees and testing fees related to course credit (CLEP – College Level Examination Program). Expenses such as supplies or equipment, transportation or parking fees, non-required elective courses or elective student fees or any other type of expense not specified in the degree program or course description are not reimbursable.

Westlake Dependent Scholarship Program

The Westlake Dependent Scholarship Program is designed to reward academic excellence and encourage the pursuit of higher education by the children of Westlake employees.


Westlake Dependent Scholarship Program

Eligibility: High school seniors of regular, full-time employees who have at least one year of Westlake service or applicable service credit may apply. All applicants must be accepted to an accredited institution of higher education and currently be a senior in high school.
